Six thousand kilometres through Italian landscape of natural and archaeological beauty. Ready available cycling travels
This is the way of travelling the MIBACT and the MIT suggest by the Tourist Cycling Paths National System: a project born to promote a kind of sustainable tourism enhancing Italian territories on historic, cultural and environmental routes.
The Cycling Route Project –started in 2016 – is realizing/carrying out 10 different routes all over the Country. More than six thousand kilometres along easy and quality paths for non-motorized, user-friendly travels only, sound to the environment and landscape, with suitable signage and services. A non-professional cycling for everybody. The very first idea comes out of Euro Velo Project, a whole of cycling corridors spreading all over Europe.
A tile of a big general mosaic strategy aiming at a slow, alternative mobility’s growth in the Country (grounded on the new ley on cycling mobility) perfectly matching The Strategic Plan for Tourism (PST) guidelines.
Five of the ten routes cross some of the Paths of Italy – The Garda Bike Route (Ciclovia del Garda), The Solar Bike Path (Ciclovia del Sole), The Water Bike Path (Ciclovia dell’Acqua), The Trieste-Lignano Sabbiadoro – Venezia Cycle Path (Ciclovia Trieste-Lignano Sabbiadoro – Venezia), The Adriatic Cycle Route (Ciclovia Adriatica) – a green POI marks, respectively, every crossing in The Atlas of the Paths through Italy.
